Beauty foods: Eat yourself beautiful

Never heard the expression, beauty is on the inside? Well it’s true!! And I’m not talking about your personality but about what you eat every day. You may not want to admit it after eating that whole bag of chips but what you eat is reflected on your skin. The good thing is that you can influence it, so let me show you which beauty foods are good for you.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Beside having amazing healing properties, apple cider vinegar keeps skin supple. It's heavy concentration of enzymes helps peel off dead skin cells. It breaks down fat and helps food digest properly.

Carrots
Maintain the outer layer of the skin to prevent premature aging. What you'll find in is the same as you'll get in Retin A.

Cheese
To ensure a happy smile, add a slice or two of hard cheeese into your diet. Choose Swiss, cheddar, or gouda to block bacteria in the mouth and prevent cavities.

Citrus Fruits
Hold the skin cells together by forming collagen. Collagen cannot be added to the skin topically, which is why fruits and fruit juices are such an important part of the daily diet.

Cranberries
Keep urinary tract lining healthy.

Garlic
Helps combat wrinkles and restores tissue.

Nonfat Yogurt
High in calcium, which keeps your smile white and your teeth cavity-free.
Sweet Potatoes Vitamin A is known to be a remarkable anti-wrinkling agent. Sweet potatoes are full of this important vitamin. The pleasing results is clearer, smoother skin.

Tomatoes
These "love apples" will keep you loving your skin. Tomatoes are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium.

Wheat Germ
If you want to get rid of pimples quickly and efficiently, make sure to include two or three tablespoons a day in your diet. Add it to cereal, yogurt, and cottage cheese.

You should choose foods that you enjoy, of course, but you need to include the following:

Vegetables
Three to five servings daily. Try to include one serving of raw, leafy greens.

Meat
Have no more than three three ounce servings a day. Cut off all fat. Try to make two servings of turkey or chicken. One serving of fish a day is ideal.

Fruits
Two to three servings daily. A 1/2 cup of chopped or sliced fruit is a serving. Fruit salad

Dairy
At least two servings daily. A serving would be eight ounces of milk or yogurt.

Fats
Salad dressing, cooking oil, butter, and mayonnaise should be limited to two servings a day.

Blake Lively talks about Gossip Girl and ...

Blake Lively says girls aren't only catty on her hit CW show Gossip Girl - they're mean in real life, too.

In February's Vogue, she recalls entering a private school in Los Angeles in second grade.

"It was the only school where people were just downright mean to me," she says. "They would make fun of my clothes."
Lively says her love of offbeat fashion came from her mother, Georgia, who'd often take her to boutiques and vintage stores and tailor adult clothes to fit her.
"She just did that because she was so creative and because she didn't want me to be dressed in big T-shirts cinched with a plastic clip like all the rest of the kids," says the actress.

She now thanks the Gossip Girl wardrobe crew for honing her fashion sense.
"The more they work with me and see my style, and the more I learn about fashion, the more input I have," she says. "It's more collaborative now than it was in the beginning because then I had no idea what I was doing."

Of Gossip Girl, she says, "the fashion is just unbelievable. You can watch our show on mute and be entertained."

Lively says she loves her character Serena's NYC look.
"Just being here, walking around, you pick it up really quickly," she says. "In New York, you put on skinny jeans and riding boots and a leather coat and handbag, and you take on that posture and character. It becomes very natural."

Fashion Trend: Hello Yellow!

The warm weather is smoothly on its way back and fresh summery colors are popping everywhere. Pink, orange, green and ….Yellow! That’s right, yellow is supposed to be the “IT” color for 2009. Yellow is a sunny, cheerful color that really lifts your spirit. Wanna find out if color looks good on you? Also check out our thread on What Colors Suit You
You'll surely see more of this popular color as we move into the warmer months. The vivid shade of yellow that's so popular this year tends to look best on people with dark hair and deeper skin tones as well as those with blue eyes since yellow shades accentuate shades of blue and purple.

Yellow look great when you combine it with blue, purple, grey, brown and green. If you find it overwhelming try to incorporate is as an accessories for a subtle touch of summer freshness.

Hair Trend: Braids

Bohemian Chic is going to be IT for the Spring Summer and with this cool feminine you need a layed back and romantic hair style to go with it. Braids never go away and offer that nice twist to your normally random hair style. Whether it's delicate or bigger braids, celebs have adopted this style and you can spot more and more celebs rocking braids.

Lauren Conrad says “My hair was always in my face, so I started braiding it almost every day”. Lauren’s braids keep her hair held back and it looks super chic for many occasions. Most celebs are braiding each side with a delicate loose braid, or some are creating a long thick braid that wraps around the head like a headband.

Fashion Trend: Ethnic Fashion

Fashion is growing everyday and the globalisation continues. We're learning from different cultures and fashion trends everyday. Even designers like Dior, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana get inspired by other cultures for their collection. Fashion is like an art form and every country interprets it differently.

Ethnic prints and details are definitely a trend that will continue as we have many cultures that inspire our fashion senses. Noted prints that continue to inspire designers are African inspired trends. The colorful prints and details are endless. And now you have the advantage that designers are incorporating these prints and details in their designs which appeals to a larger group of fashion lovers.

Even celebs love ethnic fashion. Check out some of their outfits
