Fashion Trend: Native American Fashion

The Native Americans were the first people on the American continent and were known for their rich culture and traditions. Complemented by a distinct fashion style Native Americans have left their mark even in today's society.

The Native American Fashion style was noted for its beautiful colors, ruffles, dye jobs, accessories, feathers, hairstyles, minnetonkas and more. It's remarkable how their fashion proves to be timeless and still influences today's fashion trends.

Style File: Blake Lively

Gossip girl has been going strong for 3 seasons now already. Every week young girls tune in to find out what Serena and Blair are up to. The oufits in the serie are simply stunning. Serena van der Woodsen or Blake Lively really stand out with her fashionable, sometimes bohemian chic outfits.

We don't get tired of Blake Lively's character Serena as she allways know how to get her attention. Whether it's with her behaviour or with her stylish looks.

Style File: Shenae Grimes

Since landing a leading role in the noted 90210 series Shenea Grimes has not been a stranger to the spotlight. People fell in love with her character Annie Wilson and something tells me she's here to stay. Like every other 'new' celeb people want to know the person behind the character and find out what they like, who they date and especially what they wear!

Most celebs when they start out they still need to find their way in Hollywood and with their fashion style. Shenae is no different.
Personally I think she could use the help of a stylist to vamp it up a little more and to show more of her personality in her wardrobe. Because right now her fashion style isn't very memorable

What do you think?

Fashion Trend: Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans can easlily be made. If you have an old pair of jeans in your closet you can pimp it up and update your look.

1. Do some research. Look online and in fashion magazines for the best-looking rips.

2. Most jean companies seem to place them in areas that you wouldn't naturally tear.

3. Decide upon the jeans. Use old or new. Try jeans from a thrift shop for practice.

4. Decide upon the size of the rip. It may enlarge each time you wash your jeans.

5. Decide upon the shape of the rip. You may wish to extend a rip in several different directions.

6. Decide which techniques to use. You may wish to let the fabric become thin on its own. A few techniques, to begin the process, may be all that's needed.

7. Gather your jeans, coarse sandpaper, pumice stone, wood file, grater, utility knife, scissors and a small, flat block of wood.

8. Draw a cutting line or pattern on your jeans with a pencil.

9. Place a block of wood inside the pant leg beneath the area.

10. Rub and scrape the fabric in several different directions. Use sandpaper, a pumice stone, wood file and grater. These will fray the fabric.

11. Loosen fibers by scraping with the blade of a utility knife.

12. Using the scissors, cut a hole through the loosened fibers.

13. Retain all of the loose fibers. They will progressively fray each time you wash your jeans. Use a dryer for fluffier fray.

14. Wear colored nylons or stockings beneath your ripped jeans. (... or don't)
